KIRBY SPORTS CENTER

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer and student athletic trainer(s) on site competitions and most practices; otherwise coach certified in CPR/AED/First Aid; MD on site for Basketball competitions.

Emergency Communication: Kirby Athletic Training room or athletic offices; If closed- Payphones located near elevators across from fitness center.
Coach must also have working cell phone

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if Available)
    3. Emergency equipment retrieval
    4. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS)
    5. Call 911 ( or 9-911) and request an ambulance (provide name, address, telephone number, number of individuals injured, condition of injured, first aid treatment given, who is caring for injured, specific directions, other information as requested
    6. Direction of EMS to the scene
      a.) Open appropriate doors
      b.) Designate individual to "flag down" EMS and direct to scene
      c.) Scene control: limit scene to first aid providers and move bystanders away from area.

Venue Directions: Kirby Sports Center is located on Pierce Street across from the tennis courts. The nearest cross street is Hamilton. The EMS entrance for varsity athletic activities in Kirby Fieldhouse is on Pierce Street.

METZGAR ATHLETIC COMPLEX

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer and student athletic trainer(s) on site for competition and most practices; otherwise coach certified in First Aid / CPR/AED; EMS available on as needed basis.

Emergency Communication: Phone in McCracken field house center hallway and athletic training room. Coach must have working cell.

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility- or on game field on game days.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if available); otherwise coach certified in First Aid/CPR.
    3. Emergency equipment retrieval
    4. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS):
      a.) 911 call (provide name, address, telephone number, number of individuals injured, condition of injured, first aid treatment given, who is caring for injured, specific directions, other information as requested)

    5. Direction of EMS to the scene
      a.) Open appropriate gates- know current gate code
      b.) Designate individual to "flag down" EMS and direct to scene
      c.) Scene control: limit scene to first aid providers and direct bystanders away from area.

Venue Directions: The Metzgar Fields complex is located in Forks Township across from the Forks Diner on Sullivan Trail. --- Then direct specifically to the field/area where injured person is.

RUEF NATATORIUM

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer on site competitions; otherwise coach certified in First Aid /CPR/AED

Emergency Communication: Coach Dailey's Office/ Kirby Athletic Training room or athletic offices; If closed- Payphones located near elevators across from fitness center.

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if available)
    3. Emergency equipment retrieval
    4. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS):
    5. Call 911 and request an ambulance(provide name, address, telephone number, number of individuals injured, condition of injured, first aid treatment given, who is caring for injured, specific directions, other information as requested)

      a.) Open appropriate doors

Venue Directions: Ruef Natatorium is located on the second floor of the Kirby Sports Center, which is at the cross streets of Pierce and Hamilton Streets. The EMS entrance for emergencies occurring in the pool is on Hamilton Street.

SULLIVAN COURTS TENNIS FACILITY

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer on site for competitions, otherwise coach or student worker certified in First Aid /CPR/AED

Emergency Communication: Coach's Cell Phone

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if available)
    3. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS):
    4. Call 911 and request an ambulance(provide name, address, telephone number, number of individuals injured, condition of injured, first aid treatment given, who is caring for injured, specific directions, other information as requested)
    5. Direction of EMS to the scene
      a.) Designate individual to "flag down" EMS and direct to scene
      b.) Scene control: limit scene to first aid providers and direct bystanders away from area.
      c.) Make sure all cars in driveway are removed before EMS arrival

Venue Directions: Sullivan Courts are located on Sullivan Road at the Southwest edge of campus.
From Easton-

    1.Go up College Avenue which turns into Cattell Street.
    2.Turn left onto High Street (Wawa on your near right corner).
    3.Turn left at Skillman Library, and then bear right onto Sullivan Road.
    4.You will pass a field (March Field) on your right.
    5.Sullivan Courts are just past the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority House on your right.

From Forks-

    1.Take Sullivan Trail towards campus; this becomes Knox Rd and then Cattell Street.
    2.Turn Right onto High Street (Wawa on your far left corner)
    3.Turn left at Skillman Library, and then bear right onto Sullivan Road.
    4.You will pass a field (March Field) on your right.
    5.Sullivan Courts are just past the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority House on your right.

BOURGER VARSITY HOUSE

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer and student athletic trainer(s) on site competitions and most practices; otherwise coach certified in First Aid /CPR/AED; MD on site for Football games.

Emergency Communication: Bourger Athletic Training room or football offices; Coach must also have working cell phone

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if available)
    3. Emergency equipment retrieval
    4. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS):

Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer and student athletic trainer(s) on site competitions and most practices; otherwise coach certified in First Aid /CPR/AED; MD on site for Football games.

Emergency Communication: Kirby or Bourger Athletic Training rooms / or athletic offices; Coach must also have working cell phone

Emergency Equipment: Supplies (AED, oxygen, splint kit, spine board) maintained in Sports Medicine Facility.

Role of First Responders

    1. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete
    2. Call Staff Athletic Trainer (if available)
    3. Emergency equipment retrieval
    4. Activation of emergency medical system (EMS)
