Some would argue Dr. Billy Oaks '51 is best known around the Lafayette community as a "soccer guy." And it makes sense, considering he played four years of varsity soccer for the Leopards, including a stint as team captain, and that his devotion to the sport did not end with his final day on the pitch. Senior EXCEL scholar and women's basketball player Amanda Smith '10 has spent the majority of the past year working with Lew Minter, the director of the Lafayette art department's media lab, on restoring pieces of artwork dating more than 500 years ago.
