Housenick Joins Athletic Communications and Promotions Staff

Nov. 18, 2013

EASTON, Pa. – Mandy Housenick has joined the Lafayette Athletic Communications and Promotions staff as a featured columnist, director Scott Morse announced Monday. Housenick’s stories will appear weekly in House on the Hill throughout the 2013-14 academic year.

Opportunities to add a freelance writer of Mandy's ability don't come along often,” Morse stated. “We're excited to have her join our team and look forward to her telling the amazing stories about Lafayette student-athletes, coaches and alumni.”

“I'm thrilled to be joining Lafayette as a freelancer and writing about the highly accomplished student-athletes roaming the fields, courts, tracks and swimming pools on College Hill,” Housenick said.

Housenick’s first piece centers on women’s basketball senior guard Madeline Fahan.

“Maddie recalled how her journey took her from Ventura, Calif., to Lafayette. The ride didn't come without some bumps in the early stages, but Fahan couldn't be happier about spending four years as a Leopard.”

Housenick comes to Lafayette with 13 years of experience as a sports writer, including nearly 10 at The Morning Call where she served as the beat writer for the Philadelphia Phillies for five years. Currently, she is the Associate Director of University Relations at East Stroudsburg University.

She is a 2000 graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Newspaper/Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
