Lafayette's baseball and men's lacrosse programs have scheduled Alumni Days for the month of September. The 2nd Annual Baseball Alumni Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18 at Class of 1978 Stadium and will honor long-time Lafayette baseball coach Charlie Gelbert. The Men's Lacrosse Alumni vs. Varsity game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25 at Rappolt Field. Last September, the Friends of Lafayette Baseball held the inaugural Lafayette Baseball Alumni Day, which honored the Leopards' nine NCAA Tournament teams. This year's event, scheduled for Sept. 18, will focus on Charlie Gelbert. All alumni classes are welcome to return to campus for a day of wonderful memories and friendship at beautiful new Class of 1978 Baseball Stadium. The schedule for the day includes a home run derby and alumni game starting at 9 a.m. and a reception and luncheon honoring Charlie Gelbert at noon. The Friends of Lafayette Lacrosse is working diligently to support the Leopards' lacrosse program. One of the goals of the group is to create more opportunities for Lafayette lacrosse alumni to reconnect with the program and its current student-athletes. What better way to connect than with an event that pits the alumni against the current varsity squad? The schedule for the day features the Alumni vs. Varsity game at 11 a.m. with a barbeque lunch to follow.
