Picnic Kicks Off Team Cup Competition
Aug. 27, 2008 EASTON, Pa. - SAAC and the Department of Athletics will kick off the 2008-09 Team Cup competition with a picnic Thursday on the quad (Kirby Sports Center is the rain site for the kick-off picnic.) The picnic will introduce the Team Cup competition to the student-athletes and coaches. Attendees will receive a t-shirt and a list of games which they are encouraged to attend in the fall semester to support their fellow student-athletes while donning the "Maroon Platoon" gear. Lafayette's Team Cup is designed to create camaraderie amongst the student-athletes. Teams can earn points in five different categories (academic achievement, athletic achievement, community service, SAAC participation and Pard Pride) throughout the year with SAAC representatives overseeing the program. |
