EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette student-athletes took part in the 11th annual Freshman Move-In Day. Team members from the fall varsity sports as well as a few spring sports and the Lafayette cheerleaders joined with several of the college's fraternities, sororities and campus organizations to assist in moving in the Class of 2014.

It marked the 11th consecutive year that student-athletes volunteered to help incoming freshmen bring their belongings into their homes away from home. The program began in August of 1999 with the Lafayette football team and the College's Office of Student Residence and has been an annual tradition since.

Members of the football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, cross country and volleyball teams all took two-hour shifts. The student-athletes were found throughout campus unloading cars and carrying bags, boxes, refrigerators and flat screen tv's up flights of stairs, helping ease the physical stress for parents dropping off freshmen.

The Class of 2014 has a weekend full of orientation activities before classes begin for all students on Aug. 30.
