EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's football, men's soccer, women's soccer, and field hockey teams each took time today to assist the College's incoming freshmen as they moved into their residence halls. Each program's entire team and coaching staff were out in full force to provide assistance from 7 a.m. to noon.
This was the third year Lafayette's athletic teams have assisted the incoming freshmen during the move-in period. The idea, fostered by the College's office of student residence, was originally brought forward by Joe Luke '00, a stand-out member of the Leopards' football program.
Many of the Leopards' fall sports are currently in two-a-day preseason camps until classes begin on Monday, Aug. 27. Lafayette officially begins its 2001-02 varsity sports seasons on Thursday, Aug. 30, when the field hockey team travels to Monmouth for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
