EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Brianna LaBrecque and Scott Rex have been named graduate interns in the Lafayette College Athletic Communications Office.
LaBrecque graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. in May 2003 with a bachelor of arts degree in Communications. The North Jay, Maine native spent over a year as a student assistant in the sports information department at her alma mater. She played a key role in assisting with the publicity of women's basketball program.
LaBrecque honed her writing skills at two newspapers. She worked as the sports editor of her collegiate newspaper, the Quinnipiac Chronicle and also completed a summer internship at the Manchester Journal Inquirer in the sports department.
Rex is a June 2003 graduate of Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio where he too earned a bachelor of arts degree in Communication. As an undergraduate, Rex spent two years working in Otterbein's Sports Information Office where he assisted with the daily duties of promoting the school's 18 sports.
While at Otterbein, Rex served as the sports editor of the campus newspaper, the Tan and Cardinal, and also wrote for the yearbook. Since Jan. 2003, the Napoleon, Ohio native has also served as a programming intern for America Online, updating web pages for Netscape and CompuServe.
"Brianna and Scott both bring solid credentials and previous experience in sports information," said Director of Athletic Communications and Promotions Scott Morse. "We're excited to have them join our staff and are looking forward to working with them during the coming year."
LaBrecque and Rex begin work on July 7.
