EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette College's athletic programs once again rank among the best academically in the NCAA, as demonstrated by the most recent statistics released this afternoon. All Lafayette teams included in the report rate above national average for Academic Progress Rate with 16 programs ranking among the top 10 percent in each sport.

Instituted in 2005, the Academic Progress Rate is an NCAA-established metric which allocates points for each student-athlete who remains enrolled at the institution and maintains his or her NCAA eligibility.

Of the 22 teams included in the report, 11 posted perfect Academic Progress Rates (APR) of 1000 in the 2099-10 academic year: women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and women's outdoor track and field.

Joining those 11 teams in the top 10 percent in their sports were baseball, men's soccer, men's and women's indoor track and field and men's outdoor track and field. Lafayette led the Patriot League with 16 teams receiving an APR Public Recognition Awards, as announced by the NCAA last week. As a group, the Patriot League ranked second behind only the Ivy League in total awards.

Every Lafayette athletic program earned an APR score above the national average of 970.
