EASTON, Pa. -- Lafayette athletic business manager Dave Blasic, who joined Lafayette's athletic department in July of 2012, was honored with the Maroon Club Athletic Staff Achievement Award over the weekend at the College's annual pre-commencement awards dinner.

"Dave is an exceptionally dedicated staff member who pitches in wherever he can," said Lafayette Director of Athletics Bruce McCutcheon. "We are a better department with Dave on our staff."

The award, which is voted on by the Maroon Club Executive Committee, is given to a full-time athletics department staff member who has demonstrated outstanding service to Lafayette College and its athletics program. The award is the highest honor the Maroon Club can bestow upon an athletics staff member.

"I can't think of a person more deserving," said Jim Rogalski, Lafayette's head men's lacrosse coach. "Anything you need, he will do, and all you have to do is ask. He cares about the success of the teams, but really cares about the coaches and student-athletes. He puts a lot of extra time and energy into this place."

Men's basketball coach Fran O'Hanlon earned the honor last year, while football coach Frank Tavani received the honor for 2014-15, former track and field head coach Julio Piazza was the winner for 2012-13 and women's soccer's Mick Statham was the recipient in the award's inaugural year of 2011-12.
