Nominees Announced for 2014 Pardees

Past Lafayette College Senior Award Winners:
Charles L. Albert '08 Award | Class of 1913 Trophy | Leopard Tradition | Mission Statement

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette's Williams Center for the Arts will be the venue for the 2014 PARDees, the senior student-athlete awards show on Thursday, May 22, honoring more than 100 student-athletes for their athletic and academic accomplishments over the past four years on College Hill.

The event, which begins with the red carpet walk at 4:30 p.m., will be hosted by Gary Laubach of the Lafayette Sports Network and Susan Averett, an Economics professor and Lafayette's NCAA Faculty Representative. GoLeopards.com will have a full recap of the award winners following the event, including a look at the student-athletes on the red carpet. 

Four graduating seniors will receive special recognition as the Charles L. Albert, Class of 1908 Awards and the Class of 1913 Trophies will be presented at the event. One male and one female senior student-athlete will win each honor, which are voted upon by Lafayette's head coaches and athletic administration.

The Albert Award is presented annually to the senior male and female student-athletes at Lafayette who are judged to be the most outstanding athlete. The 1913 Trophy is presented annually to the senior male and female student-athletes who have attained the greatest distinction both as an athlete and a scholar. 

The nominees for the 2014 PARDees:



CLASS OF 1913 TROPHY: Top Male Scholar-Athlete 

Brad Bormann, Football: 2014 Lafayette Pepper Prize winner, 2013 Patriot League Champion, 2013 Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year, four-year Dean's List and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection, he was also named to the Academic All-America, Academic All-District II, and the FCS Academic All-Star Teams, 3.82 GPA in Biology with a minor in English

Adam Gill, Swimming: earned Dean's List, Academic Department Honor Roll, and Academic All-American honors in each of his four years, Marquis Scholar, 3.71 GPA in History and Economics

Nathan McDonald, Soccer: member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll all four seasons, member of the Oaks Leadership Academy, vice-chairman of Athlete's C.A.R.E., 3.33 GPA in Mechanical Engineering



CLASS OF 1913 TROPHY: Top Female Scholar-Athlete 

Lauren Berry, Swimming: 2013 Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned Dean's List, Athletic Department Honor Roll, and Academic All-America honors in each of her four years at Lafayette, school record holder in the 800 free relay, 3.94 GPA in Psychology

Kristin Heaney, Field Hockey: named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Academic Squad, three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, member of the 2011 and 2012 Patriot League Championship teams, 3.51 GPA in Economics

Rachel Martin, Lacrosse: earned multi-year Dean's List, Athletic Department Honor Roll and Patriot League Honor Roll recognition, team captain, four-year starter and four-year All-Patriot League selection, 3.43 GPA in Mathematics-Economics and Psychology

Rose Willey, Cross Country and Track and Field: named to the Dean's List and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of her four years, 2013 Patriot League Outdoor Champion in the 3000m Steeplechase, Marquis Scholar, 3.87 GPA in Mathematics and Economics

Adam Gill, Swimming: Two-time Lafayette Most Valuable Swimmer, 2014 Lafayette Swimming Coaches Award winner, team captain, ranks in the top-10 in the 500 free and 200 fly

Nathan McDonald, Soccer: Ranks third in Lafayette history and fifth in Patriot League history with a 0.74 Goals Against Average, finished his career ranked sixth in Lafayette history and seventh in Patriot League history with 19 shutouts, Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2012 when the team won the title

Mark Ross, Football: Lafayette's all-time leading receiver, First-Team All-Patriot League selection in his junior and senior seasons, two-time team Most Valuable Player, member of the 2013 Patriot League Champions



CHARLES L. ALBERT, CLASS OF 1908 AWARD: Top Female Athlete

Karissa Ciliento, Volleyball: Four-year starter at outside hitter, she ranks in the Top-10 in career kills and aces

Kate Durkan, Swimming and Diving: 2014 Most Valuable Swimmer and 2014 Lafayette Swimming Coaches Award winner, school record-holder in the 400 medley and 800 free relays

Danielle Fiacco, Basketball: Ranks first in Patriot League history in blocked shots and first in Lafayette history in rebounds, 1,000-point scorer

Rachel Pena, Track and Field: Two-time Patriot League Champion in the hammer, 2014 Indoor Patriot League Champion in the weight throw, ranks in the Top 20 in the nation in the hammer throw

Ana White, Lacrosse: Patriot League record holder in draw controls and caused turnovers, four-time All-Patriot League selection, Patriot League Midfielder of the Year in 2013
