EASTON, Pa. -- Lafayette athletics finished up its nominee announcements on Friday, unveiling the two men up for the Charles L. Albert ’08 Award. The nominees include men’s soccer’s Ryan Egan and men’s basketball’s Nick Lindner.
The PARDees, an annual awards show that recognizes Lafayette's senior student-athletes for their accomplishments and contributions to their programs, will be hosted by Gary Laubach of the Lafayette Sports Network and Susan Averett, a professor in Economics. The event will take place on Thursday, May 18, with a red carpet walk beginning at 4 p.m.

Four graduating seniors will receive special recognition as the Charles L. Albert '08 Awards and the Class of 1913 Trophies will be presented to one male and one female each. The winners are determined by a vote from Lafayette's head coaches and athletic administration.
The Albert Award is presented annually to the senior male and female student-athletes who are judged to be the most outstanding athlete. The 1913 Trophy is presented to those who have attained the greatest distinction both as an athlete and a scholar.

Ryan Egan, Men’s Soccer: Government & Law major…served as a team captain his final two seasons in 2015 and 2016…was an All-Patriot League Second-Team honoree in 2016…member of the 2015 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll…a four-year starter for the Leopards, playing in 69 total games and starting every game in which he was healthy throughout his career…scored seven goals and tallied four assists, with three and one coming in 2016…scored four game-winning goals during his tenure at Oaks Stadium, including a pair last season.
Nick Lindner, Men’s Basketball: Government & Law major…was the first player in Lafayette history to finish his career with 1,500 points and 500 assists…the all-time Lafayette leader in games started (118) and tied for fourth in games played (121)…was an All-Patriot League Third-Team selection this past season…top 10 in Lafayette history in three offensive categories, including second in career assists (520), sixth in scoring (1,509) and ninth in career three’s (166)…named the 2015 Patriot League Tournament MVP, averaging 23.7 points over three tournament games on the way to a Patriot League championship…led the Patriot League in free-throw percentage (85.0%) and assist/turnover ratio (2.6) in his rookie season, named to the All-Rookie Team…earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors for his 27- and 22-point outings to open the 2016-17 slate…has raised his GPA each year since arriving on campus, featuring two straight semesters of a 3.9 GPA or greater entering the spring.
