Lafayette Suspends Athletic Competition Due to Illness

March 9, 2016

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette College announced this afternoon that the recent outbreak of a contagious stomach virus on campus has been confirmed to be due to norovirus. Out of an abundance of caution, Dr. Goldstein, Director of Health Services, has recommended suspension of all campus activities, including intercollegiate sports through the weekend.

Recognizing both the strain these illnesses have placed on our community, and the importance of minimizing student contact with visitors to the campus, the College is cancelling all classes, co-curricular, and extracurricular events, including intercollegiate athletics, effective immediately. This includes events scheduled for this evening. These cancellations will remain in effect throughout the weekend. The College will resume its normal operations on Monday.
