Lafayette Student-Athletes Boast 3.19 Overall GPA

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette student-athletes posted a combined overall grade-point average (GPA) of 3.19 for the 2010 fall semester and 19 of the College's 23 NCAA Division I teams recorded a 3.0 GPA or better. The women's cross country team led the way with a 3.45 GPA while the men's cross country team posted a 3.38, the highest among the men's teams.

Lafayette featured 15 student-athletes with a perfect 4.00 GPA for the semester. Overall, 350 students (68%) received a 3.0 GPA or higher for the fall semester. Fifty-four (11%) boasted between a 3.80 and 4.00, 113 (22%) between 3.50-3.79 and 183 (36%) between 3.00-3.49.

A total number of 102 Lafayette fall sports scholar-athletes earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades. The Leopard football team had 35 honorees while the men's and women's cross country teams combined for 22 recipients and the women's soccer team notched 17 on the listing. The men's soccer team featured 13 student-athletes, 11 for field hockey and four for volleyball.
