The Lafayette swimming and diving teams practice and compete in the six-lane Weinstein Natatorium, which is housed within the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center. The facility underwent a $5.6 million transformation in the summer of 2016 and was re-dedicated on Oct. 1, 2016 thanks to the generosity of Mike Weinstein '70 and his wife, Jill.
The transformation included the addition of dramatic exterior windows and significant upgrades to spectator seating and pool lighting. In addition, new one-meter and three-meter diving towers were added along with new starting blocks. A scoreboard/video board now accompanies the new Omega timing system which includes new touchpads. The pool deck and pool tank were re-finished and new mechanical and filtration systems were installed.
Other features of the natatorium include record boards, the coaches' offices and varsity locker rooms. The balcony seating area accommodates 300 spectators and is adorned with new aluminum seating.
